Shaw Air Force Base Civilian Receives Gold Star Award
5/27/2010 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- A Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., civilian was honored at the 2010 Small Business Association National Small Business Week event here May 25.
Judith P. Croxton, the director of business operations, received the SBA Gold Star award on behalf of the 20th Contracting Squadron at Shaw AFB, which was recognized for numerous achievements, including awarding 96 percent of available dollars to small businesses. Read More…
Small Business Office Helps Community, Spurs Growth
5/14/2010 - VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- With the country in a state of recession, one Vandenberg agency is reaching out to the community and helping employ small businesses.
"The Vandenberg small business office is set up to put more emphasis on the small business program by meeting with businesses throughout the local community as well as the state of California," said James Mastin, the Vandenberg small business manager. 4/6/2009 - HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass (AFNS) -- The Air Force is looking to support small businesses in a big way, two top service officials said during a visit here April 2. David Van Buren, principal deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition, and Ronald Poussard, director of Air Force small business programs, said during a joint interview that the Air Force acquisition community is redoubling efforts to reach out to small companies.
